2016 Dual State Wrestling Championship Day

The OSSAA 2016 dual state wrestling tournament concludes on Saturday with the semifinals and championship matches held at Firelake Arena in Shawnee. Here is the schedule (with results updated throughout the day):

Class 6A

Semifinals
Choctaw 30, Broken Arrow 26
Sand Springs 48, Union 6
Championship – 6:30 p.m.
Choctaw 41, Sand Springs 18 – Choctaw: First dual state title since 1997; Sand Springs: No. 1 ranked, but denied first dual state title, last won wrestling state title in 1971.

Class 5A

Semifinals
Coweta 34, Altus 24
Collinsville 34, MacArthur 18
Championship – 6:30 p.m.
Coweta 34,  Collinsville 32 – Coweta: First dual state championship, avenges loss in last year’s title match; Collinsville: Streak of five straight titles (2011-2015) is stopped.

Class 4A

Semifinals
Tuttle 54, Wagoner 15
Fort Gibson 41, Cushing 33
Championship – 6:30 p.m.
Tuttle 57, Fort Gibson 13 – Tuttle: Seventh straight dual state championship (2010-2016); Fort Gibson: First trip to dual state championship match.

Class 3A

Semifinals
Plainview 54, Comanche 16
Perry 53, Vian 16
Championship 
Perry 34, Plainview 32 – Perry: Eighth straight dual state championship (2009-2016); Plainview: Lost to Perry in the finals for second straight year.
