The Ladybugs and the Lady Warriors got there in different ways, but each got the best of a quality opponent on Tuesday to move on to the tournament title game.

Adair defeated Plainview, 54-49, and Anadarko held off Washington, 40-36, in the semifinals of the 2014 Bertha Frank Teague Mid-America Classic.

The Ladybugs connected from long range early to set the pace for the game.  Alva made six three-pointers in the first quarter, but Plainview stayed right behind and trailed by only one, 20-19, at the end of the period.

Alva hot shooting continued from the first round as the Ladybugs shot 50 percent from behind the arc and 42 percent from the field.  Alva led by as many as 12 in the second half and fended off the fourth quarter Plainview rally.

Jaden Hobbs had 24 on the evening for Alva.

Anadarko played good defense and took advantage of Washington miscues, scoring 22 of its 40 points off turnovers.  AHS gave up only one point in the same manner.  Anadarko limited Washington to just 29 shots from the field.

Ashley Beatty scored a game high 20 points in the win.  Washington’s Kelsey Johnson had a double-double with 11 points and 16 rebounds.
