Avery Anderson is a student at Ada High school who was severely injured in a car accident not that long ago. This past Friday, Ada asked that we joined them in participating in their theme for the game, All in for Ave. They asked the Durant students to wear green because it iss Ave’s favorite color.

Student Council came up with the idea to make a giant green card for all of DHS to sign for us to present to Ada High School. Mr. Jon Hazell asked his student council members to set up a table at every lunch for the students to come and sign.During halftime on Friday, Sept.16, the Pride Pit members, student council, and more joined in by helping present Ave’s card to the AHS student council.

There was not a dry eye in the stands or in the sidelines that night.

Everyone in the DHS Pride Pit agreed that as much as they would love Durant to win, they would not mind losing this one. [Ed. note: Ada won 34-6.]

The Ada Cougars might be one of Durant’s biggest rivals, but in the end both teams came together as one family.
