Langston keeps on slowly moving up the NAIA poll.
In its highest ranking in at least a decade and a half, LU comes in at No. 11 in this week’s NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll.
The Lions (19-5) have won three straight since falling at No. 1 LSU-Alexandria to open the month. And at 11-2 in the Red River Athletic Conference, LU has clinched a berth in the postseason tournament.
Langston is two games up on third place on No. 19 Our Lady of the Lake in the RRAC standings with five games left in the regular season. The two will meet on Saturday night in San Antonio, Texas.
Mid-America Christian is still getting respect from the voters.
The Evangels (20-6) split games last week. MACU evened the season series with USAO on Thursday, but fell at Wayland Baptist. They will play at John Brown on Thursday and come home for the final game of the season in the Gaulke Center on Saturday, hosting Southwestern Christian.
And Oklahoma City stayed in the poll this week, falling from No. 23 to No. 25.
The Stars (12-8) lost at Wayland Baptist last week, too, but picked up a win over Southwestern Christian on Monday.
Home games await the Stars this week against Bacone on Thursday and USAO on Saturday.
