The Langston Lions have won or claimed a share of the Central States Football League title on the field for the last three years.

And the coaches and media who cover the CSFL have tabbed them to do it again.

Langston was atop the 2014 CSFL preseason poll, receiving seven of the 10 first place votes and 39 points overall.  Southwestern Assemblies of God was picked to finish second.

Bacone and Langston played an instant classic for the CSFL title last season with LU coming out on top.  Coming up with a second-place finish in the league last year, the voters placed the Warriors in the third spot in the preseason poll and tied with Oklahoma Baptist.

OBU is going into just its second season following a 73-year hiatus, but the young Bison have grabbed the pollsters’ attention and even garnered one first-place vote.

Texas College and Wayland Baptist round out the polling. The month of November could be interesting then for the league with the following games in consecutive weeks:

SAGU is at Bacone on Nov. 1, and then travels to Langston on Nov. 8.  The regular season concludes with Bacone at Langston on Nov. 15.
