OKLAHOMA CITY — Mid-America Christian University freshman goalkeeper Tyler McIntosh has been named the National Christian College Athletic Association Men’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week, the organization announced today.

Making his first career start, the Sand Springs, Okla., native kept the Southwestern Assemblies of God Lions off the scoreboard and then assisted on the Evangels’ game-winning score in a 1-0 double-overtime victory over SAGU.

McIntosh made 11 saves overall, including one off his face with 6:30 remaining in regulation to keep the match scoreless. He then assisted on Duncan Mbugua’s score by hitting Mbugua with a pinpoint feed just 45 seconds into the second overtime period.

McIntosh and the Evangels will look for their second straight win to open the season by hosting Oklahoma Christian University later today (Aug. 28) at 4 p.m. at MACU Soccer Field.
