Oklahoma Baptist had five hits and five runs in the sixth inning to distance itself from Bacone in an opening round NAIA tournament game Tuesday afternoon.

The top-ranked and top-seeded Bison (51-6) move on to face No. 2 seed Bellevue in a winners’ bracket game on Wednesday at 11 a.m.

The Warriors play the winner of Friends [Kan.] and Northwestern [Iowa] in an elimination game on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30.

Kevin Rivas went seven innings on the mound and picked up the win for OBU.

Ivan Vela went 3-for-5 and scored three times.

Bacone’s Jean Carlos Rodriguez was also 3-for-5 on the afternoon.
