GOODWELL — Within the next two months, the Oklahoma Panhandle State University Rodeo team will host schools for all three rough stock events; bull riding, bareback riding, and saddle bronc riding. The bull riding school will kick things off on April 14 and 15. The bareback riding school will take place May 13 and 14. The annual Deke Latham Memorial Bronc Riding School is May 11-14. All three schools are at the Lynn Gardner Rodeo Arena in Goodwell, Okla.

The bull riding school will be instructed by Panhandle State Alumni Joe Frost. During his time at Panhandle State, Frost captured several year-end titles in the Central Plains Region as well as four trips to College National Finals. Beyond college Frost has made the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in the bull riding the last three years. Tuition for the bull riding school is $200 and it is for students eight years old and up.

This year’s bareback riding school will be instructed by two-time Collegiate National Champion and two time NFR qualifier Orin Larsen. In 2014 Larsen won the nation in the bareback riding while rodeoing for Panhandle State. The tuition for the bareback riding school is $200.

It is no secret that Panhandle State is known for its bronc riding. This year’s Deke Latham Memorial Bronc Riding School will be instructed by ten of the best guys in the business. This year’s instructors include; Billy Etbauer, Robert Etbauer, Dan Etbauer, Cody Taton, Jake Watson, Craig Latham, Bret Franks, Clay Elliot, Tyrel Larsen, and Allen Boore (tentative).
