OU No. 6, OSU No. 17 in final coaches’ poll

As of Monday night’s BCS Championship Game and Tuesday’s poll, the 2013 Division I college football season is officially in the books.

No. 1 Florida State came from behind to defeat No. 2 Auburn, 34-31, to break the stranglehold the SEC had on Division I championships.

Oklahoma moved up to No. 6 in the coaches’ poll after making a statement, 45-31, over Alabama in a strong showing in the Allstate Sugar Bowl.

Oklahoma State fell to No. 17 in the poll.  A seven-game win streak was followed two consecutive losses by the Cowboys in their final two games – Bedlam and the AT&T Cotton Bowl, falling 41-31 to Missouri.

The Sooners open the 2014 season in Norman hosting Louisiana Tech on Saturday, Aug. 30.  Meanwhile, the Cowboys will meet Florida State in its first opportunity to defend its title, as the two meet in Dallas on Aug. 30 in the Cowboys Classic.
