This week’s Players of the Week are Brandi Leal, CU, and Markens Charles, USAO.
Brandi Leal, junior, Cameron
Leal has done her part to help the Aggies win five straight in the Lone Star Conference, including two wins this week. Â She hit six three-pointers, not once, but twice in wins over Texas A&M-Kingsville and Angelo State. Â Leal had games of 20 and 18 points.
Markens Charles, junior, Science and Arts of Oklahoma
Charles came close to a triple-double in the Drovers’ 18-point upset of No. 8 Oklahoma Baptist. Â He scored 18 points, had nine assists and eight rebounds. Â The Drovers came up just short against Texas Wesleyan on Saturday, but Charles had nine more points and an even more impressive 14-assist night. Â His assist total tied the USAO record.
