ALVA – Northwestern Oklahoma State University volleyball earned themselves a spot in the GAC Tournament as they put on a dominating performance against Southeastern Oklahoma State University (7-19, 3-11 GAC), sweeping the Savage Storm (25-23, 25-19, 25-15).

In what would be the closest set of the night, the Lady Rangers controlled the lead and the tempo of the first set. The Savage Storm would mount a comeback to tie up the set 23-23, but a last push by the black-and-red gave them the victory.

In the second set both teams fought back-and-forth for a lead, but Northwestern would go on score eight unanswered points to give them enough cushion to finish the set out, and go up in the match 2-0.

Going into what would be the last set, the Lady Rangers dominated as they would push their commanding lead up 11-4, not letting the Savage Storm close in on the lead. Northwestern would complete the sweep from two Savage Storm errors.

Hannah Williams would lead the team with 11 kills.

With this win Northwestern was able to clinch the eighth spot in the conference and go on to play in the Great American Conference Tournament in Hot Springs, Ark., which starts Wednesday, November 7. Game times are to be announced.

They will finish off their home stretch facing rival Southwestern Oklahoma State University on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. The Lady Rangers will be honoring their three outstanding seniors Brooklynn Hesson, Hannah Williams and Tobi-Rae Barker Thursday night before the match begins, as they step in Percefull Fieldhouse for the last time in a Lady Ranger uniform.
