Rock Creek, Silo head to Kingston to start 2018

KINGSTON – The Kingston New Years Classic has provided high quality teams and great competition since its inception a few years ago. The bracket in 2018 looks like it could be one of the best.

Seven of the eight boys’ teams are ranked in Class 3A and Class 2A heading into the new year, including the No. 1 team in 3A in host Kingston. Three of the girls’ teams are ranked, as well.

Here’s a look at the opening round matchups on Thursday, Jan. 4:

GIRLS

Latta (4-3, 2A) vs. Silo (7-4, 2A) – 11 a.m.
Dale (9-1, 2A No. 3) vs. Atoka (2-3, 3A) – 1:40 p.m.
Rock Creek (8-2, 2A No. 19) vs. Tishomingo (3-3, 3A) – 4:20 p.m.
Kingston (6-2, 3A, No. 13) vs. Talihina (6-1, 2A) – 7 p.m.

BOYS

Latta (8-2, 2A No. 2) vs. Rock Creek (8-2, 2A No. 19) – 12:20 p.m.
Atoka (3-2, 3A No. 19) vs. Dale (4-6, 2A, No. 12) – 3 p.m.
Talihina (5-2, 2A No. 5) vs. Silo (7-4, 2A, No. 17) – 5:40 p.m.
Kingston (8-0, 3A No. 1) vs. Tishomingo (0-6, 3A) – 8:20 p.m.

The tournament is set to run Jan. 4-6, 2018.
