The Sooner Athletic Conference filled four of the top 25 spots in the third edition of the NAIA men’s basketball poll for 2012-2013.

Oklahoma Baptist fell from the top spot to No. 4.  The Bison (14-2) lost the last game of the month in both November and December and both losses were to ranked teams.  But OBU started 2013 with a pair of conference wins and have a top 20 matchup in Claremore with Rogers State tonight.

USAO coach Brisco McPherson notched his 300th win on Jan. 3 over then-No. 9 Rogers State.  The Drovers (8-3) have taken over the ninth spot in the poll, but two losses have followed that historic win – both to ranked conference rivals.  USAO next takes the court against OBU in Shawnee on Saturday.

Rogers State dropped 10 spots to No. 19 in the rankings. RSU (12-4) opened 2013 falling to USAO in Chickasha and was then upset by Mid-America Christian at home.  The Hillcats look to right the ship tonight hosting OBU.

Oklahoma City remains at No. 22 in this poll.  The Stars (8-2) split the last two games, both against conference foes and both ranked opponents.  OCU lost to No. 25 John Brown on the road then beat No. 9 USAO at home.  OCU travels to Lubbock Christian tonight to face the Chaparrals.
