WINONA LAKE, Ind. — Top-seeded Southwestern Christian University took care of business against eighth-seeded Life Pacific (Calif.), topping the Warriors 87-69 and advancing to the semifinals of the NCCAA Division I Men’s Basketball National Championship at Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center.

The Eagles (19-14) led by as many as 20 points and never trailed en route to punching their ticket to the semifinals. SCU will face the winner of the last game of the night between fourth-seeded Central Christian (Kan.) and fifth-seeded Warner (Fla.) at 7:45 p.m. CDT Thursday.

Senior Shawn Scott led the charge with 23 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals on the night. Scott shot 11-for-13 from the field and made the only 3-pointer he attempted.

Casey Cole followed with 16 points, four rebonds and two assists. Cole was 4-for-5 from the field and 8-of-10 from the free-throw line. 

Darius Madkin led the SCU bench with nine points in 17 minutes.

Michael Williams and Austin Lobo each provided eight points and six rebounds. Williams also added six assists on the night. 

Fredd Richardson III scored seven points, grabbed six rebounds and passed out four assists. Trevar Mayon also scored seven and snagged five rebounds. 

Victor Diaz added six points and four rebounds in 20 minutes.
