Sooners picked to return to top of Big 12

The Sooners and Cowboys won the last two Big 12 football titles, respectively, and are poised to fight for the top spot once again in 2012 The annual media preseason rankings reflect just that.

With the return of Landry Jones, OU is picked to win the league, receiving 32 of 41 first place votes.  If Dominque Whaley can come back strong from the season-ending ankle injury, the Sooners will be well on their way toward the conference crown.

OSU was picked to finish fourth and understandably so.  The Cowboys lost two of the most prolific offensive players in school history: Brandon Weeden and back-to-back Biletnikoff award winner Jusitn Blackmon.  And the Pokes won’t be surprising anyone this season.  But the OSU stable is still full of talent.
