DANVILLE, Ark. — Michael Hearne is on an unheard of streak as the Southern Nazarene junior won his fifth tournament in six tries this year. In the final round of the Dave Falconer Memorial, Hearne fired a par-72 on the 7,047-yard course at the Chamberlyne Golf Course. 
Hearne finished at four under par with a 140 (68-72), two strokes ahead of Henderson State’s Matt Jennings who fired a 69 on the final day for a 142.
“I don’t know of another streak like it,” said SNU Head Coach Derrick Taylor. “He’s playing well right now. He shot a good first round and birdied one and two today. He finished strong as well. He manages his game well. He knows his way around the course and puts himself in good position and does not let anything rattle him. Even when he hits a bad shot, he leaves himself room and takes what he can get out of it.”
Cristian Valderrama also finished inside the top 10 for SNU as he tied for 10th at 147 (72-75). John Abrahamsson shot took two strokes off his first round score with a 74 to finish at 150 in a tie for 27th. Luke Coppedge tied for 59th at 157 (77-80) while JP Eischen took 87th at 173 (87-86).
The Crimson Storm finished fifth at 594, just two strokes back of Harding. Henderson State won the overall title at 580 while Southwestern Oklahoma State took second at 586 and Arkansas Tech placed third at 587. Southeastern Oklahoma State took seventh at 602, Southern Arkansas placed 10th at 618 and Ouachita Baptist took 16th at 646.
The Crimson Storm now get set to play in the Midwestern State Invitational, March 17-18, at the Wichita Falls Country Club.
