Top 10 of 2014 – No. 2: Bison take back-to-back Directors’ Cups

It is pretty impressive to earn the Learfield Directors’ Cup for excellence in an athletic department.

Winning the award in consecutive seasons is a statement.Oklahoma Baptist Bison

The award is given to honor institutions achieving success in many sports, not just one.  Oklahoma Baptist has just that and for the second straight year.

OBU earned 904.50 points and scored in the maximum 12 sports during the 2013-2014 athletic season.

Among the Bison achievements were:

National championship – women’s and men’s swimming and diving
National runners-up – women’s indoor track and field
Fourth – men’s indoor track and field
Fourth – baseball
Seventh – women’s cross country
Ninth – women’s tennis
Tenth – men’s golf
Tenth – men’s outdoor track and field

The Bison also earned a spot in the NAIA national tournament in both women’s and men’s basketball.

Oklahoma Baptist finished 141.25 points ahead of second place Oklahoma City University.
