The Oklahoma Wesleyan University Lady Eagles have qualified to play in the NAIA Division II National Tournament scheduled for Mar. 11-17. The tournament will be held in the Tyson Events Center at Sioux City, Iowa.
The Lady Eagles will take on Eastern Oregon on Wednesday, Mar. 11, at 9:15 p.m. The winner will play Friday, Mar. 13, at 7pm against the winner of the Morningside (Iowa) and UC-Merced (Calif.) game.
OKWU is ranked 17th in the latest NAIA Division II Womens poll and are 26-6 overall and were ranked as high as No. 11 earlier this season. The Lady Eagles have been successful so far this season, winning 14 straight games to highlight the year.
OKWU is averaging 78.1 points per game while giving up 61.7. Senior Nichole Tate is the team’s leading scorer at 14.1 ppg, while Susan Agesen is averaging 12.4 ppg. Sophomore Kayla Morgan also is averaging in double figures this season at 11.8 per contest.
This is the third straight tournament appearance for Oklahoma Wesleyan and are 0-2 in tournament play.
