CLAREMORE – Rogers State head men’s and women’s golf coach Josh Fosdick announced the fall schedule for the 2016-17 season, the Hillcats first-ever season as full members of NCAA Division II.
Both programs start the campaign Sept. 12, although at different events. The men travel to Amarillo, Texas for the familiar Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational at Tascosa Country Club. The women’s team makes a short trip to the 18th Annual NSU Women’s Golf Classic in nearby Tahlequah, Oklahoma at Cherokee Springs Golf Course from Sept. 12-13.
After a week off, the men’s team returns to the course Sept. 26-27 at the MSSU Men’s Fall Invitational in Monkey Island, Oklahoma at Shangri-La Golf Course.
The women are back in action at the Women’s West Texas A&M Invitational from Oct. 3-4 in Amarillo, Texas at the Tascosa Country Club. The men’s team is also competing those days in Wichita, Kansas at the Newman Invitational at Crestview Country Club.
For the second straight week, the women are on the course as the Hillcats play in the Dallas Baptist Classic from Oct. 10-11 at the Golf Club of Dallas in Dallas, Texas.
The RSU men go back to work Oct. 17-18, following an off week, at the Midwestern State Invitational at Wichita Falls Country Club in Wichita Falls, Texas. The Hillcat women play at Fort Sill Golf Course in Lawton, Oklahoma during the same stretch for the Oklahoma Intercollegiate. The event marks the final tournament for the women’s team in the fall non-championship season.
The fall season ends two weeks later for the Hillcat men as they are slated to compete at the Golfweek Division II Fall Invitational Oct. 31-Nov. 1 at Horseshoe Bay (Apple Rock Golf Course) in Marble Falls, Texas.
