Lamoni, Iowa – Sarai Rodriguez scored a career-best 34 points to lead the Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels to a 106-94 victory at the Graceland University Yellowjackets tonight (Oct. 27) in Lamoni, Iowa.
Rodriguez’s point total also included a career-best 14 makes at the charity stripe.
Tamiyjah Smith added 21 points for MACU and Nevada Denton scored 18, including a big three-pointer that gave the Lady Evangels a double-figure lead of 91-81 with 6:49 remaining.
Jamie Lamb also reached double-figure with 16 points for the Lady Evangels, who improve to 2-0 on the season under new head coach Hannah Moeller.
The Yellowjackets were led by Sydney Vaughn’s 31 points.
The Lady Evangels will next be in action next Thursday night (Nov. 3) at Bethel College (Kan.). Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. in North Newton, Kan.
