SHAWNEE – The 52nd Annual Faith 7 Basketball Bowl is set for Saturday, June 10, pitting the 10 of the top 2017 prep graduates from Oklahoma and Texas against each other at the Noble Complex on the campus of Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee. The charity event will begin with the Faith 7 Bowl’s inaugural girls’ game at 1:30 p.m., followed by the boys’ showcase at 3:30 p.m.
The Oklahoma Boys All-Stars will be coached by Russ Harrison and Tim Price. Suiting up for the Sooner State will be Cameron Hines (Fort Cobb-Broxton), Eli Landrum (Tulsa Central), Caleb Nero (Tulsa Memorial), Trae Young (Norman North), Sayvon Milton (Heritage Hall), Brewster Peacock (Verdigris), Harrison Stoddart (Edmond North), Brady Manek (Harrah), Cameron Martin (Yukon) and Ethan Chargois (Tulsa Union).
Joe Logino and Alan Simmons have been tabbed to coach the Texas Boys All-Stars. Representing the Lone Star State on the boys’ side are Umoja Gibson (Waco University), Antoine Hailey (Waco University), Tim Johnson (Mansfield Timberview), Preston Enloe (Lewisville Hebron), Sean Phillips (Tyler All Saints Episcopal), Mitch Prendergast (Dallas Jesuit), David “Tre” Thomas (North Crowley), Logan Cook (Muenster) and Zach Lord (Liberty Hill).
Oklahoma’s girls’ team will be helmed by Curt Knox and Cherie Myers. Representing Oklahoma in the inaugural Faith 7 Bowl girls’ showcase will be Maddison Collyer (Harrah), Hannah Ash (Dale), Kara Speer (Metro Christian), Kinsey Neiderer (Okarche), Keni Jo Lippe (Adair), Ana Llanusa (Choctaw), Taylor Roberts (Classen SAS), Bethany Franks (Norman), Katie Mayo (Newcastle) and Abbie Winchester (Heritage Hall).
The Texas girls will be led by Ross Barber and Melonie Hopson. Taking the court for Texas will be Jordan Jenkins (Buffalo), Jaylan Gulley (Dallas Skyline), Alyson Gamez (Irving MacArthur), Aerial Starks (A&M Consolidated), Addison Foster (Lubbock Frenship), Barbara Benson (Midway), Madison Ralston (Argyle), Vivian Gray (Argyle), Sydnee Wynn (Eustace) and Abby Spurgin (Fredericksburg).
During halftime of both games there will be a 3-point shooting contest. Following each game, one player representing each state will be awarded a Most Valuable Player plaque.
Tickets are general admission, with adult tickets costing $10 and student tickets costing $5.
