OKLAHOMA CITY — Southwestern Christian University shot a final-round 307 and won the NCCAA Central Region Women’s Golf Championship Tuesday at Lake Hefner Golf Course.
The Eagles turned in a two-day score of 308-307—615 and beat out second-place Colorado Christian by 15 strokes.
The win carries SCU to the NCCAA Women’s Golf Championships in at Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Fla. for a third straight year.
Senior Andi McGill fired the low round of the tournament with a final-round 70. McGill turned in an overall score of 76-70—146 and finished one shot behind individual champion Katrina Mendez of Colorado Christian.
Kayla Witt followed with a score of 78-73—151 and finished third individually. Madelyn Lehr also finished in the top-5 with a score of 76-82—158.
Haley Mashburn shot 78-85—163 and tied for sixth, while Tori Plumley finished with 88-82—170 to round out SCU’s top-5.
The Eagles will make their third consecutive trip to the NCCAA Women’s Golf Championships on Oct. 23-25 at Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Fla.
