Oklahoma State blew out Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns on Saturday, but the storyline took a turn from the expected when true freshman quarterback Wes Lunt went down one minute and 34 seconds into the game.
Lunt suffered a knee injury and did not return to the contest. It was reported by Fox Sports that the injury was a dislocated kneecap and should sideline Lunt for the remainder of the season. The injury is reported such that a player would be out for two or three weeks.
J.W. Walsh came off the bench and did not miss a stride. The Cowboys scored on all possessions in the first half and went on to win 65-24.
The injury news was worse for Devin Hedgepeth who fell to the ground in the third quarter with an ankle injury. It was reported that Hedgepeth’s injury involved his Achilles tendon, the same injury that Hedgepeth suffered against Texas A&M in 2011.
