Alpine, Texas—The Oklahoma Panhandle State University volleyball team
snapped their seven game losing streak Wednesday evening in a match against
the Lobos of Sul Ross State University, an NCAA Division III school
competing in the American Southwest Conference.
The Aggies won in three straight sets, taking the first one 25-16, and then
battling to win the next two 26-24. Erica Skipper led the Aggies in kills
with nine followed by Sarah Koster with seven and Michaela Redding with five
while Terra Madden had 16 assists. Defensively, Alex Schmitt had 14 digs and
the team had a total of nine blocks. OPSU’s season record now stands at 3-8
overall and 0-2 in Heartland Conference play.
The Aggies travel to Odessa to resume conference play tonight against the
Univ. of Texas of the Permian Basin at 7 p.m. and fans can watch the game
live via the Internet and also get live stats from UTPT’s athletics site

On Saturday, they play McMurry University in Abilene. A live video feed will

has begun its NCAA Div. II candidacy period and once that is completed, they
will become a full member in the Heartland Conference.
The women’s next home game is scheduled for Sept. 27 against conference
rival St. Mary’s with the first serve set for 7 p.m.
