ALVA – Northwestern Oklahoma State University football has announced its 2019 schedule, as well the date for its annual spring game and BBQ.
The Spring practice schedule will conclude April 13 when the Rangers will take part in the Spring game at Ranger Field. Open to the public, the game will begin at 2 p.m. and is free of charge to attendees.
Following the Spring game, the Rangers will quickly make their way over to Baker’s Barn for the annual BBQ. Tickets are $50, which includes all you can eat and drink, and can be purchased by contacting Assistant Head Coach TJ Andrade (awandrade@nwosu.edu; 580-327-8141).
The 2019 campaign is set to begin with a Thursday night contest on the road against East Central in Ada, Oklahoma on Sept. 5. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. It will be the first time in program history the two longtime rivals will open a season against each other.
Northwestern’s home opener is set for Sept. 14 against Southeastern. The Rangers home schedule features Arkansas-Monticello (Sept. 28), Southern Arkansas (Oct. 12) and Oklahoma Baptist (Nov. 2). The 2019 Homecoming celebration will take place Oct. 26 when the Rangers face Harding at 4 p.m., and rival Southwestern Oklahoma State makes the trip to Ranger Field this season on Senior Day on Nov. 16.
Ouachita Baptist took the conference by storm in 2018 with an undefeated conference season, a trip to the national quarterfinals and a final NFCA national ranking at No. 6. The Rangers will take on the Tigers on the road in Arkadelphia, Arkansas on Sept. 21.
After traveling back to Arkadelphia on Oct. 5 for a date with Henderson State, the Rangers go to Arkansas Tech on Oct. 19 and wrap their road schedule on Nov. 9 at Southern Nazarene.
