GOODWELL – It’s going to be an historic weekend for the Oklahoma Panhandle State University Shooting Sports team, as it plays host to the inaugural Aggie Shootout 2020. The first-ever home event in program history will take place Friday-Sunday (Nov. 6-8) at the recently-opened OPSU Shooting Sports Complex.
Aggies’ Head Shooting Sports Coach Jordan Freeman has assembled a full field of eight teams in OPSU’s first opportunity to showcase the University’s newest venue in an actual collegiate competition. Joining the Aggies will be teams from Midland University, Oklahoma Western College, Oklahoma Eastern College, Wichita State University, Hannibal-LaGrange University, Northwest Kansas Technical College and Hastings College (Neb.).
Start time will be 10 a.m. Friday and 8 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Friday will be shooters from Panhandle State, as well as Wichita State. The Aggies will shoot trap on Friday.
“OPSU is very fortunate to be able to host our very first collegiate competition at the new shooting facility,” Freeman said. We have been working very hard to ensure that this event runs smoothly and I can’t wait to see our success. We have had a great response and I am happy that our shoot has reached full capacity. That’s amazing news considering this is our first-ever event.”
