The 2013 Sooner Athletic Conference women’s basketball tournament is set to begin on Wednesday at the Noble Complex on the campus of Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee.
Regular season champion Oklahoma City is looking to defend its tournament championship. The Stars won the SAC postseason tournament in 2012 on their way to the NAIA national title as well.
OCU, which went 16-0 through the regular season, will meet the winner of USAO and Mid-America Christian. USAO and MACU will play in the first round matchup on Wednesday.
Lubbock Christian locked up the second seed and will face St. Gregory’s. LCU won both games against the Cavs in the regular season.
Rogers State, ranked in the Top 25 through the year, is the No. 3 seed and will meet Wayland Baptist. The two teams split this season.
And John Brown edged Oklahoma Baptist for the fourth seed, though both teams were 7-9 in league play. This just determines the color of the uniform each school will wear when they meet in the SAC quarterfinal.
