The Red River Athletic Conference finished its regular season Tuesday and with a three day turnaround will start the conference postseason tournament on Friday.
In the women’s tournament, Langston edged St. Thomas for the fifth seed and avoided a matchup with LSU-Shreveport. Instead, the LU will meet Texas Wesleyan in the quarterfinal.
Bacone made it into the postseason in the eighth spot in the conference, but finished three games ahead of ninth place Southwestern Assemblies of God in league play. This means though that the Lady Warriors are matched with top-seeded regular season champion Wiley in the first round,
The men’s bracket shows Langston in the No. 8 spot. The Lions earned the right to play the host school and top seed Southwestern Assemblies of God.
Bacone finished 10th of the 12 teams in the RRAC that were eligible for postseason play.
The tournament gets underway with games on Friday and Saturday and the championship games will be played on Monday, Mar. 4. All tournament games will be held on the SAGU campus in Waxahachie, Texas.
