Thabo Sefalosha hit a three-pointer at the end of the first half, allowing OKC to regain the lead at 55-54 and stop a Portland run of 24-11. It proved to be the game-winner.
Oklahoma City had another second half in which it took apart its opponent and won 106-90 in Portland.
Russell Westbrook exploded in the third quarter with 17 points, helping his team to gain a 26-7 advantage in the period. He had a game high 33 points, and that was with seeing limited court time in the fourth quarter.
Kevin Durant had only 16 points and six assists in a game in which his services also were needed mainly through only three quarters. Durant and Westbrook came back into the contest late and for only a short time to assure the Thunder win.
Former Thunder guard Eric Maynor made some noise in the first half as a part of the Trail Blazers’ big run, but finished the game with only 10 points and three assists off the Portland bench.
Oklahoma City swept the series series with Portland and retained the lead in the Western Conference over the San Antonio Spurs.
