♦ OPSU’s men found their winning ways at home with an 89-78 victory over Rogers State. Zilijan Jones put up a season high 25 points for the Aggies, with the team’s point total also a season high. Tavien Rosemond and Bill Lee each recorded double-doubles in the win.
♦ The Southeastern women and Northeastern State men found the zero taken away from the loss column in conference play.
SOSU fell prey to an improving Northwestern team. Only three players for both teams combined scored in double digits in the 45-42 Ranger win in Durant. NWOSU’s Jonae Isaac put in 15 while teammate Kierra Gilmore had 11.
NSU fell at home to Missouri Southern, 80-65, and was the final MIAA men’s team to suffer a league loss. Bryton Hobbs had 20 points, following a 40-point performances two nights before, and Jeremy McDonald had a season-high 14 in the loss.
♦ Also, don’t forget about the fact that Oklahoma teams were responsible for taking the zeroes off the loss column of both Iowa State teams on Saturday. OU’s men handed the Cyclones an 87-82 defeat in Norman, and later in the day OSU’s Cowgirls took down ISU, 69-62, in Ames.
• Oklahoma City and St. Gregory’s have a lot of momentum going into the middle of January.
The Stars are 8-1 overall, having lost only to No. 14 Benedictine (Kan.) as 2013 wound down. They are 3-0 on the road with games at SAGU on Monday night and Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday.
SGU continues its historic season and have increased its latest win streak to five. The Cavaliers will be on the road Thursday night against Northwood before coming home to start a three-game home stand with a huge matchup against SAGU.
