Bob Battisti has a name that has been connected with Northwestern basketball and athletics for many years. Battisti is going to take that good name a place in Weatherford now, as he has been tabbed as the new men’s basketball coach at Southwestern.
Battisti brings 24 years of head coaching experience (21 of those years in Alva) to the table in an effort to lead the Bulldogs to great things on the court.
“We are very excited about Coach Battisti becoming a part of the SWOSU family. His competitive spirit and drive to succeed make him a great fit for our men’s basketball program,” said Todd Thurman, SWOSU Athletic Director. “Bob has the proven record that is needed to lead our team up against the Great American Conference and at a national level.”
Battisti has a career record of 409-296. His most recent stop has been in Edmond as the Oklahoma Christian assistant coach. He worked there with Dan Hays, the winningest coach in OC history.
