Wright City, or the OSSAA, may have caught a break today, depending upon your viewpoint.
The cold front that hit the state yesterday has caused a postponement of the first round of the Class A state baseball tournament at Dolese Park in Oklahoma City.
This gives more time to each side of a dispute involving Wright City’s eligibility in the state tournament a little more time to get its ducks in a row before the court steps in.
Wright City has been declared ineligible to compete in the state tournament because the Lumberjax played two more games than are allowed by the OSSAA.
But the school is not happy with the ruling and has petitioned for a temporary restraining order in the McCurtain County Court. The order was granted.
But due to the weather, it hasn’t come into play just yet.
[UPDATE]
The next hearing will be at 10 a.m. at the McCurtain County Court House, according to Wright City superintendent David Hawkins
