Only two days until National Signing Day-National Signing Day Feb. 5, 2014.
Steven Parker was one of Oklahoma’s top recruits this year. The 6-foot-2, 185 lb. safety proved throughout his senior season why he was recruited so hard by so many schools. Parker played both ways this year for the Jenks Trojans. He finished the year with a spectacular performance in the state championship game against the crosstown rival Union Redskins. Parker is set to make his decision tomorrow at school. He’ll be deciding between the Texas A&M, Auburn and Oklahoma. Right now, he seems to be a Oklahoma lean, but we’ll have to wait until tomorrow to see if that holds true.
Wherever he lands, he should provide immediate help in the secondary. He has great closing speed and good ball skills. He is also good open field tackler, which is a skill you really need as Division I safety.
Update: Parker chose the Oklahoma Sooners. He’s going to remain in-state.
