McPherson, Kan. – The Mid-America Christian University Men’s Basketball Evangels will compete in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Central Regional Tournament starting today (Mar. 9) at Central Christian College in McPherson, Kan.
The Evangels are the fifth-seed and will open against a very familiar foe in Sooner Athletic Conference rival and fourth-seeded Southwestern Christian University. Tip-off today is at 3 pm.
A win over SCU would land MACU into the regional semifinals tomorrow (Mar. 10) against the winner of top-seeded Colorado Christian University and eighth-seeded Crowley’s Ridge College at 4 pm.
The regional championship is set for Saturday (Mar. 11) at 2 pm.
The Evangels, the defending NAIA National Champions, are 16-15 this season under second-year head coach Josh Gamblin.
MACU is led by Olajuwon Garner with 14.8 ppg and Malcolm Mann has dished out a team-high 150 assists. Ex’Zavia Seaton leads the Evangels with 8.5 rebounds per game this season.
