TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association and Oracle unveiled the latest Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Division II National Rankings on Wednesday and four Oklahoma teams were listed in the top 31, with one moving into the top 10.
The University of Central Oklahoma tennis team jumped up to No. 6 in the country, marking the highest ranking in school history for the Bronchos. UCO is 11-1 overall and 4-0 in the MIAA.
“I’m just really happy for the girls on this team that are putting in so much hard work,” second-year head tennis coach Jaron Maestas said. “They work so hard every day on and off the court and they deserve this. I do think though that we are just getting started and I’m excited to see where this team will go.”
UCO was No. 13 in the previous ranking.
Also recognized in this week’s list from Oklahoma are: No. 20 Northeastern State (9-4 overall, 3-0 MIAA); No. 25 Cameron (6-4 overall, 0-0 LSC) and No. 31 Oklahoma Baptist (6-3 overall, 1-0 GAC).
