RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – With the threat of heavy rains from Hurricane Isaac headed towards Arkansas later in the week, the Great American Conference announced that two football games – Northwestern Oklahoma State at Ouachita Baptist and Southern Nazarene at Henderson State – have received permission to move their Thursday night games to Wednesday night.

The Rangers and Tigers, originally slated to kick off, at 7 p.m. Thursday will now start at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The Crimson Storm and Reddies will open their seasons one hour later, also up from an original start time of 7 p.m. Thursday.

“The Great American Conference and the affected institutions appreciate the NCAA granting us the flexibility to start our season one day early,” GAC Commissioner Will Prewitt said.

These two games will represent the first two NCAA football games in the country for the 2012 season.

Eric Moyer is the Great American Conference Assistant Commissioner for Communications.
