LINCOLN, Neb. – Camryn Hill tallied 19 points and Regan Schumacher had a double-double Friday evening in the Oral Roberts women’s basketball team’s 90-61 loss at Nebraska.
The Golden Eagles started the game fast taking an 11-5 lead in first. Ariel Walker went 2-2 from long-range early before Nebraska went on an 11-0 run. The Husker run was broken by Tierney Coleman with a driving layup. The Golden Eagles went on an 8-0 run and Camryn Hill hit back-to-back three-point buckets. A close first quarter ended with the score notched up at 22-22.
Hill scored 19 points in the first half, leading all scorers, after going 5-for-11 in the first 20 minutes. The Huskers led 45-35 at the break with a high percentage turnout at 52.9 percent from the field.
Nebraska continued to shoot over 50 percent from the field in the second half and extended its lead by as much as 31. Hill left the game in the fourth quarter with her fifth personal foul of the game and did not score in the second half. Down the stretch, Nebraska out-scored ORU, 45-26.
The Golden Eagles were able to win the turnover battle, 21-17. Four Golden Eagles, Camryn Hill, Regan Schumacher, Gem Summers and Ariel Walker, each scored in double-digits. Schumacher recorded her first double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Camryn Hill led all scorers with 19 points and Regan Schumacher grabbed 11 rebounds. Nebraska’s Trinity Brady scored 15 points and Kate Cain recorded 11 rebounds.
ORU was out-rebounded by Nebraska, 58-40. The Golden Eagles grabbed 17 offensive rebounds compared to Nebraska’s 14.
ORU will head to Lawrence, Kansas, to face the Kansas Jayhawks Sunday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. inside Allen Fieldhouse.
