The Langston Lions have made it into the NAIA Football Coaches’ Top 25 Poll in its seventh edition for 2014.
Langston (4-3) was idle last weekend, but defeated Wayland Baptist, 38-7, in its first home game of the season the previous Saturday.
The Lions are ranked No. 25 in the poll, the first time the Lions have been in the top 25 in six weeks. Â LU was ranked 23rd in the preseason poll and held that spot through the first polling on Sept. 15.
Langston is undefeated in the Central States Football League and against all NAIA opponents it has faced this season and has three games remaining on the 2014 schedule, all at home.
NCAA Division II state rival Oklahoma Panhandle comes to W.E. Anderson Stadium on Saturday with kickoff set for 2 p.m. Â The Lions close the season with CSFL foes Southwestern Assemblies of God on Nov. 8, and Bacone in the finale on Nov. 15.
