OKLAHOMA CITY — Southwestern Christian University senior Andi McGill finished in the top spot of the SCU Fall Invite Wednesday at Lake Hefner Golf Course.
McGill, of Marietta, Okla., carded a two-day total of 72-75—147 on the par-72, 5,969-yard course and beat out Rian Moores of Murray State CC by seven shots.
The Eagles finished second overall as a team with a final score of 323-314—637. Murray State edged the Eagles by two strokes. SCU finished 13 shots in front of third-place Kansas Wesleyan.
Madelyn Lehr, a junior from Idabel, Okla., shot 83-76—159 over two rounds and tied for fifth place. Junior Kayla Witt, of Duncan, Okla., followed with a score of 82-81—163 and placed ninth.
Tori Plumley, a junior from Harrah, Okla., shot 86-82—168 and Haley Mashburn, a freshman from Mabank, Texas, finished with 97-84—181.
SCU will return to action in the NCCAA Central Region Tournament Sept. 18-19 at Lake Hefner Golf Course in Oklahoma City. SCU finished second overall in the regional a year ago.
