Rogers State opened Day One of the 75th NAIA Tournament at 9 a.m. on Thursday with a 62-57 win over Tougaloo. The No. 9 seed Hillcats used a strong defensive showing and limited the Bulldogs to just 22 percent shooting from the field. Donald Williams had 17 points and was one of three Hillcats that scored in double figures for the morning.
No. 2 Oklahoma Baptist went down to the wire with Belhaven in a contest that wasn’t decided until the next day. OBU escaped 68-62. The Blazers led the Bison by as many as 10 points in the second half, before OBU used a 15-0 run to retake the lead and hold on to advance.
