LANGSTONÂ – The No. 10-ranked Mid-America Christian University Evangels won for the fourth straight time by defeating the Langston University Lions, 100-95, Tuesday night in Langston, Okla.
The win gives the Evangels a season sweep of the Lions after besting Langston 79-73 last Tuesday (Nov. 10).
The Evangels, now 6-1 on the season, shot a blistering 60.7 percent (34-of-56) from the field and out-rebounded the Lions 37-29 overall.
MACU led 58-47 at the break and held off the Lions in the second half to close out the victory.
Nick Tate led the Evangels in points (21), rebounds (7) and assists (3) and Devonse Reed scored 20. Malcolm Mann added 18 points for the Evangels.
Antonio Arnold had a team-high 23 points for the Lions and Jeremy Wilson led Langston with nine boards.
The Evangels will next play an exhibition contest at No. 16-ranked Drury University (NCAA D-II) on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. in Springfield, Mo.
