KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The No. 11-ranked Northeastern State women’s golf team owns a 15-stroke lead after the first round of the 2016 MIAA Championship, which is being held at the par-72, 5,893-yard Swope Memorial Golf Course.
The RiverHawks fired a team score of 18-over-par 306 to land well ahead of the pace. No. 25 Central Oklahoma is second at 33-over 321, and No. 49 Lindenwood sits third at 36-over 324. Central Missouri and Missouri Western State are tied for fourth at 53-over 341.
All five members of NSU’s lineup shot in the 70’s and are all inside the top four in the individual standings.
Junior Baylee Price shot 1-under 71 and owns a six stroke lead over the rest of the field. True freshman Ebba Moberg is tied for second at 5-over 77. Seniors Charter Lawson and Kayla Schroeder and true freshman Kelsey Lumpkinare all tied for fourth at 7-over 79.
Northeastern State will begin teeing off in Tuesday’s second round at 8:30 a.m. NSU will start on the back nine.
