Two of the top three teams in the country in this week’s softball rankings are Oklahoma programs.
Oklahoma City is ranked second and St. Gregory’s is third in the NAIA Softball Coaches Top 25 Poll.
OCU remains at the No. 2 spot it held last week in the first regular season poll in 2016. The Stars have the best record in the country at 34-1, after opening the season at 29-0.
SGU moves up one spot to No. 3. The Cavaliers are now 19-3 overall and are the team that gave OCU its only loss so far this season.
Oklahoma City has now been ranked in 114 consecutive polls, which is the longest active streak. St. Gregory’s has been in 41 straight, a streak that is fourth-longest currently.
OCU and SGU are set to meet again on Apr. 12 at Ann Lacy Stadium.
