This week’s Oklahoma college Players of the Week, presented by First United Bank, Alimata Rabo, SWOSU, and Jackson Hopking, SNU.
Alimata Rabo, sophomore, Southwestern
OSN has tabbed Rabo as the Player of the Week in the state, but the sophomore also garnered conference (GAC) and national (USC) Player of the Week honors, as well. Rabo recorded five goals last week in two matches. She netted four against West Texas A&M and one at Angelo State and had an assist, too.
Jackson Hopking, junior, Southern Nazarene
Hopking came off the bench to step in for injured starting QB Jacob Spady and led the Crimson Storm on a comeback that will be remembered in Bethany for many years to come. Trailing 27-14 late in the fourth quarter, the junior led his team on an 83-yard drive, capped by a 16-yard TD pass to Zach Walker with 49 seconds left. The Storm recovered the ensuing onside kick and on the next play, Hopking connected with Reid Roelofs for 39 yards and the score. SNU won, 28-27, and defeated Harding for the first time in school history.
