WICHITA, Kan. – The 15U Oklahoma Eagles basketball team made another solid run through a notable tournament this summer.
The Eagles flew into the sweet sixteen of the Mid America Youth Basketball Boys’ National tournament. Played in Wichita, Kan., the MAYB hosted the 96 best 15-year-olds and 16-year-olds in the country.
Coach Larry Jenkins spoke highly of his team, that is coming off a recent trip to the final four in the Prep Hoops Tournament.
“We’re a 15U team that worked hard and made the sweet sixteen,” Jenkins said. “We lost to the best 16 U team in Missouri.
“I’m proud. It was a good weekend overall, but a tough loss. Our season is over, so until next season, ‘WORK EAGLES!'”
In the MAYB Tournament, the Eagles beat the Kansas Players, 67-57, the Colorado Elite, 56-50, the Kansas Ballers, 60-52, and the South Dakota Ballers, 49-48. They ultimately fell to the Missouri Law, 60-46, in the sweet sixteen.
