WICHITA, Kan. – Oklahoma Wesleyan University has been selected the top women’s soccer program within the KCAC this preseason by conference coaches.
The Eagles were the 2017 KCAC Women’s Soccer Regular Season and Tournament Champions, finishing the regular season with a perfect 11-0 conference record. Oklahoma Wesleyan and Ottawa advanced to the NAIA Women’s Soccer Tournament, both winning the opening round game against Lindsey Wilson College (3-0) and Hastings College (1-0), respectively. The Braves fell to the University of Northwestern Ohio, 2-1, in the next round, while the Eagles fell to William Carey, 4-0.
Oklahoma Wesleyan collected 12 first place votes and a total of 144 points for the top spot over Kansas Wesleyan’s 128 points. Ottawa was selected third in the poll with 125 points and the final first place vote.
