WICHITA, Kan. – The Oklahoma Wesleyan women’s basketball team saw their season come to a close on Thursday night, as they suffered a 76-45 loss at Friends University in the KCAC Quarterfinals.
Trailing by only four points at halftime, the Lady Eagles were outscored by 27 points in the final two quarters.
Shelbie Kirby was the leading scorer for Oklahoma Wesleyan as she compiled 18 points on a 7-for-14 shooting performance from the field. Kayla Morgan finished with 10 points and four rebounds in her final game as a Lady Eagle. Tiffany Rieger recorded eight points, while Sarah Short had six points to round out the scoring for Oklahoma Wesleyan.
As a team, the Lady Eagles shot 29 percent (16/56) from the floor and 16 percent (6/38) from behind the three-point line.
Shann Sellers led Friends in scoring with a game-high 24 points.
With the loss, Oklahoma Wesleyan’s season ends with a 14-17 overall record and 10-12 in conference play.
