TULSA – Oral Roberts women’s soccer Head Coach Roger Bush announced the team’s upcoming schedule for the 2020 campaign Wednesday. The schedule features 10 matches at home, including Oklahoma State and Tulsa, and eight on the road.
“The 2020 schedule is a reflection of a history of work, effort and commitment by past and current players of ORU Women’s Soccer,” Bush said. “It’s hard to know at the outset of a season the quality of a schedule, but it would seem the given history this slate of opponents represents, that this will be another nationally prominent schedule for ORU Women’s Soccer in 2020.”
“I’m honored to work with young women who would rather fail daring greatly than aim for an achievement of a faint heart. No question this year’s slate of opponents is a daring challenge and will require of us our maximum effort. We respect each of our opponents, are eager for the challenge, and will ready ourselves to be our best when the time comes.”
ORU will begin the season away from the Case Soccer Complex with a match in Houston, Texas, against Rice, Aug. 20, followed by a visit to Baylor, Aug. 23. ORU will then play its next five games at home beginning with McNeese State, Aug. 28 and Arkansas-Pine Bluff Aug. 30. Northwestern Oklahoma State and Sam Houston State will be in town, Sept. 4, and Sept. 6. The home stand will be capped off when crosstown rival Tulsa visits the Case Soccer Complex, Sept. 10.
The Golden Eagles will then have road games in four of the next five contests, with three-straight games against Big 12 Conference opponents. A trip to Kansas State on Sept. 13 will be followed by a home game against Oklahoma State, Sept. 18. The Golden Eagles will then travel to Oklahoma for their final non-league game of the season, Sept. 20.
ORU opens Summit League action on the road at North Dakota State, Oct. 1, and then will play at South Dakota, Oct. 4. The newest member to the league, Kansas City, will make a trip to South Tulsa, Oct. 11. The Golden Eagles hit the road for a match at Omaha, Oct. 15. The women’s team will then have three of their final four at home with matches against North Dakota, Oct. 22 and South Dakota State, Oct. 25. After one last road trip in the regular to season to Denver, Oct. 29, ORU will play its final regular season game on Nov. 1 against Western Illinois.
The top four teams will advance to the Summit League tournament, Nov. 5-7, in Denver, Colo., for a chance at the Summit League’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
