Today the OSN Spotlight, presented by Blackbeard Marine, shines on Quinton Gale!
• Southwestern football
• Hometown: Arlington, Texas
• Exercise science major expected to graduate May 2018
• Has played football, basketball, track, soccer
• Favorite teams: SWOSU, University of Florida, Carolina Panthers
• Favorite sports moment – personal: “The top moment for me was getting my first interception on the first drive of the first start of my college career last year against Southern Arkansas. There was a lot leading up to that moment and I proved to myself that I can play on this level.”
• Favorite sports moment – overall: “‘Miracle at SWOSU’ I have been a part of a lot of crazy games, but Collin Bricker’s Hail Mary catch against Oklahoma Baptist last season has to be No. 1. As soon as the ball went up, I knew he was going to catch it!”
• What do you like most about SWOSU? “I like the community surrounding SWOSU. Since I have been here, I have met a lot of loving families that look after me as if I was one of their own.”
• Who do you most look up to? “I look up to my mom and dad. To come from Memphis, Tennessee, to Arlington, Texas, with nothing and raise three soon-to-be successful kids is crazy to me.
Growing up, I have seen them wake up at 4:30 am for work and not get home until late and not once have I heard them complain. They both did what they had to do and soon all three of their kids will have a college degree, a master’s degree, or a Ph.D. They showed us the purest form of grinding and love.”
• Goals: “My team goal is to win the GAC Championship and continue on in the postseason and win the National Championship. Some personal goals I have are to become an All-American and break the school interception record. A personal goal I have for the future is to be able to provide for my entire family without any hesitation.”
