OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association announced game times for the football state championship contests. The University of Central Oklahoma will serve as “Championship Central” for all seven of the 11-man title games at Wantland Stadium. Northwestern Oklahoma State University will host both 8-man state championship games at Ranger Field.
“We are extremely excited to be going back to UCO for our 11-man championship games,” David Jackson, executive director of the OSSAA, said. “The hospitality that they showed our schools, players and fans last year was outstanding. We are also excited about Northwestern Oklahoma State University being able to host our 8- man games. This is something that they have wanted to do for several years and this year we were able to make it happen.”
“We are looking forward to hosting the OSSAA high school football state championships at UCO next month,” UCO Athletic Director Stan Wagnon said. “For so many people, this will be one of the biggest moments of their lives and for most, it will be something they will never forget. We’re proud to be the host for that. We look forward to hosting and we also look forward to do so while putting everyone’s health and safety at the forefront. That’s been the top priority for the university and will be as we host these state championships.”
“We always thoroughly enjoy hosting our OSSAA statewide teams in football championship action in December,” said Brad Franz, Northwestern Athletic Director. “We look forward to being a great host and having some great championship football in Northwestern Oklahoma.”
